TERMS & CONDITIONS

Clear, practical terms for working together.

1. About June's Life Admin Rescue

June's Life Admin Rescue provides practical, independent life admin support to individuals. Services may be provided in person, by telephone, by video call, online or independently on a client's behalf. Services may include help with paperwork, forms and applications; letters and correspondence; telephone calls and follow-ups; organising documents and digital information; appointment and travel administration; researching utilities, insurance and other products or services; and other general life admin tasks agreed with the client.

2. What I can and cannot do

I provide administrative assistance, research and practical support. I am not acting as a solicitor, accountant, financial adviser, insurance broker, medical professional or other regulated professional. Where I help complete an application, form, appeal or other document, the information and final decisions remain the client's responsibility. The client should check that information is accurate before anything requiring their declaration or signature is submitted. Where specialist or regulated advice is required, I may suggest that the client obtains advice from an appropriately qualified professional.

3. Researching products and services

I can research and compare products and services including insurance, utilities, broadband, mobile phone services and similar household expenses. Any information I provide is intended to help the client compare their options and is not financial advice, insurance advice or a personal recommendation. Prices, terms, eligibility and availability can change. The client is responsible for deciding whether to purchase, switch or enter into a contract. Unless specifically authorised to carry out an administrative step on their behalf, the client makes the final purchase or contractual decision themselves.

4. Client authority

Sometimes I may need to speak to an organisation on a client's behalf. The client may therefore need to give verbal or written authority allowing the organisation to speak to me. I will never claim to be the client or impersonate them. I will only act within the authority the client has given me, and the client can withdraw that authority at any time.

5. Charges

The initial consultation of up to 30 minutes is free and is intended to establish what help is required and whether I can provide it. It does not include 30 minutes of free administrative work. My standard charge is £25 per hour. After the first hour, additional time is charged in 30-minute blocks at £12.50. Any part of an additional 30-minute block is charged at the full £12.50. Where reasonably possible, I will tell the client before moving into another chargeable block. Home visits are charged mileage at 55p per mile for the return journey. Any parking charges or other unavoidable travel costs will be discussed with the client beforehand where reasonably possible.

6. Estimates and spending limits

Where possible, I will give an indication of how long I expect a task to take. This is an estimate rather than a fixed quotation unless we specifically agree otherwise. Clients may set a maximum amount of time or money they want me to spend on a task. If I reach that limit, I will stop and contact the client before carrying out further chargeable work. I will not exceed an agreed prepaid amount or spending limit without the client's approval.

7. Payment

For telephone, video, online and other remote work, payment for the agreed session or block of work is normally required in advance by bank transfer. I will confirm the work to be undertaken and the amount due before payment is requested. For a home visit, payment is normally due at the end of the appointment, before I leave, unless another arrangement has been agreed beforehand. Bank details will be provided separately. If prepaid work takes less time than agreed, any amount due to be refunded will be dealt with in accordance with these terms and the client's statutory rights. If further work is needed, I will obtain the client's agreement before carrying out additional chargeable work.

Any third-party costs, for example application fees, postage, parking or charges made by another organisation, remain the client's responsibility and will not be incurred without their agreement where reasonably possible.

8. Appointment cancellations

Appointments cancelled or rearranged at least 24 hours before the appointment will not incur a cancellation charge. Where an appointment has been paid for in advance, the payment for the unused appointment can be refunded or, if the client prefers, transferred to a new appointment, subject to any separate charge properly due for work already carried out at the client's request. If an appointment is cancelled less than 24 hours before the appointment, or the client is unavailable for an agreed appointment, a cancellation charge of up to 50% of the booked appointment fee may apply where this reasonably reflects the loss caused by the late cancellation. If the client cancels less than 24 hours before the appointment but rebooks the appointment to take place within 7 days, I may choose to waive or reduce the cancellation charge, depending on the circumstances and whether I have suffered a loss. This is at my discretion and will be confirmed when the appointment is rearranged. If I am able to avoid or reduce the loss caused by a late cancellation, for example because I am able to use the time for other paid work, any cancellation charge will be reduced accordingly. Where a remote appointment has been paid for in advance and a cancellation charge properly applies, only the amount of that charge will be retained. Any remaining balance will be refunded or, if agreed, transferred to a rearranged appointment. If I need to cancel or rearrange an appointment, there will be no cancellation charge. Any advance payment for work that has not been provided will be refunded or transferred to a new appointment, whichever the client prefers. These appointment cancellation arrangements do not remove or restrict any statutory cancellation rights.

9. Your statutory right to cancel

Where a contract is made at a distance, for example by telephone, email, WhatsApp or online, or otherwise attracts a statutory cancellation right, the client will normally have 14 days in which to cancel the contract, subject to the applicable law. If the client wants me to begin providing the service during an applicable 14-day cancellation period, I will ask them to make an express request for the work to start early. I will also ask them to acknowledge that, if the service is fully performed during that period, they will lose the statutory right to cancel once the service has been completed in full. If the client cancels during the statutory cancellation period after expressly asking me to start work, they may be required to pay a proportionate amount for the service supplied up to the point of cancellation. Any remaining prepaid amount will be refunded where required by law. If the client cancels within the statutory cancellation period before any work has begun, any advance payment for that service will be refunded where the statutory right applies. Details of how to cancel will be provided with the relevant booking information or Cancellation Policy.

10. Confidentiality and personal information

I treat information provided by clients as confidential and will only use or share it where necessary to provide the agreed service, where the client has authorised me to do so, or where I am legally required to do so. Some administrative work may involve sensitive information, including health, financial or benefits information. Full details of how personal information is collected, used, stored, shared and deleted are contained in the separate Privacy & Data Protection Policy.

11. Passwords and security

Where possible, clients should enter passwords, PINs, security answers and authentication codes themselves. I will not ask clients to provide online banking PINs or full banking security credentials. If temporary access information genuinely needs to be provided to complete an agreed administrative task, it will only be used for that purpose and should be changed afterwards where appropriate. I will take reasonable steps to keep documents and information entrusted to me secure.

12. Accuracy and client responsibility

I will carry out work with reasonable care and skill. Clients are responsible for providing complete and accurate information and for telling me about relevant deadlines. I cannot guarantee that an application, appeal, complaint, claim, quotation or other action will produce a particular result. Decisions made by government departments, councils, insurers, utility companies, employers and other third parties remain outside my control.

13. Deadlines

I will make reasonable efforts to meet deadlines that have been brought to my attention and that I have agreed to work towards. I cannot accept responsibility for delays caused by incomplete or late information from the client, postal or technical problems, third-party organisations, or circumstances outside my reasonable control.

14. Ending our agreement

Either the client or I can end an ongoing arrangement at any time. The client remains responsible for payment for work already completed and any agreed expenses already incurred. Where the client has paid in advance, any unused balance will be refunded after deducting only sums that are properly due under these terms and applicable law. I may decline or stop work where I believe I am being asked to do something unlawful, dishonest, unsafe or outside my competence or service. If I end an arrangement before prepaid work has been provided, I will refund the unused balance unless a lawful deduction is properly due.

15. Complaints

If a client is unhappy with any aspect of my service, I ask that they contact me in the first instance so that I have an opportunity to resolve the matter. Making a complaint does not affect any statutory rights the client may have.

16. Changes to these terms

These Terms & Conditions may occasionally be updated. The version supplied or agreed when work is commissioned will apply to that work unless we subsequently agree otherwise.
